Verse 1 Hello How are you doing? How do you feel? What's the deal? Can you tell me what's going on? Nice weather that we're having If it don't rain can't complain Who would listen anyway? If I can't complain then what can I say? Well, enough about me Can you tell me what's going on? Verse 2 Hello What have you been doing? How’s the job? Talk to Bob? Can you tell me what’s going on? It’s late but we can keep going Have a drink Don’t you think? What’s the harm in that? We’re just two friends having a nice little chat Well, enough about that Just tell me what’s going on Chorus 1 Talk to me Tell me your fears I’ll never give them up Never in a million years Verse 2 Hello How are you doing? How do you feel? What's the deal? Can you tell me what's going on? Bridge We talk We converse We exchange But there is no change We have nothing to say All those feelings inside that we hide are denied If we keep going on this way Chorus 3 I’ll tell you my secrets if you tell me your fears We’ll never give them up Never in a million years We’ll give our trust Show each other we’re real I can teach you to open up and you can teach me to feel Verse 3 Hello How are you doing? We could make small talk if that’s what you’d like Take a light stroll or a nice long hike Take in a movie watch your favorite show We can go anywhere you want to go Stay up all night Watch the sun rise high Or stay in all day let the hours fly by We can take a trip to Europe all those sights to see nothing is stopping you or me Doesn’t matter what we do just tell me what’s going on

Verse1 Let’s take a trip out to the Market Square You and me – Just like old times We’ll make the rounds – all the same routines We’ll stop for tea if you’re so inclined All the time spent screaming and yelling All those lies that we are both telling All that’s been lost and won’t return All that time in each other’s face Never willing to change the pace Just passing time to the perfect burn Chorus And I don’t have enough left to love you and I don’t have enough left to care But I want to assure you that I have enough loneliness to spare Verse2 We’ll pass the time in the coffee shop To the outside world we’re so refined The subtext thick as syrup – piping hot With cutting edge subtly defined Outside the temperature rises Inside witty conversation disguises Our strained smiles barely hide the lie See each other through a coffee filter I’m all hopped up and slightly off kilter And the words like bullets start to fly Chorus And I don’t have enough left to love you and I don’t have enough left to care But I want to assure you that I have enough loneliness to spare Solo Break See each other through a coffee filter I’m all hopped up and slightly off kilter And the words like bullets start to fly Chorus And I don’t have enough left to love you and I don’t have enough left to care But I want to assure you that I have enough loneliness to spare End Let’s take a trip out to the Market Square

Rainy Day 04:18
Verse 1 Sitting on a hillside watching the world go by It’s easy if you try to see all the masquerades People sad and lonely Their faces long trying to remember some old song they’ve heard Going through those same routines They recall the tune but they don’t remember what it means Daily grind Check the time When will today ever end? Chorus 1 You’ve got a lot to give Don’t save it for a rainy day Don’t let it slip away from you So give it all you’ve got to give Don’t save it for a rainy day You’re running out of time you’ve got to make up your mind Verse 2 Standing at a party your white face on trying to juggle conversations (You)see someone you recognize from across the room staring back at you The mirror behind those eyes discerns the truth from all of the lies Same old line check the time When will this party ever end? Chorus 2 You’ve got a lot to give Don’t save it for a rainy day Don’t let it slip away from you So give it all you’ve got to give Don’t save it for a rainy day You’re running out of time you’ve got to make up your mind Bridge (You) find yourself sitting on the sofa so many thought to mull over and you tell yourself to come out of this shell this self-made hell is all very well but there’s got to be another way Chorus 3 You’ve got a lot to give Don’t save it for a rainy day Don’t let it slip away from you So give it all you’ve got to give Don’t save it for a rainy day Don’t let it slip away from you

Verse 1 Too many people spend their time just trying to survive instead of living Existence is persistence See what they can take instead of giving Sometimes I wonder what they think of me and then sometimes I don’t care at all Chorus 1 It keeps going round and round Round and round Round and round Verse 2 Often times we think we know just what to expect so full of explanations One twist of fate can aggravate this illusionary state time to change our expectations Though unprepared I plan to stand my ground no time to think about the fall Chorus 2 It keeps going round and round Round and round Round and round Verse 3 One single day can change the way we look at ourselves and the way we see each other It’s not too late to instigate a conscious change of fate from an enemy to a brother from an enemy to a brother Solo Sometimes I wonder what they think of me and then sometimes I don’t care at all though unprepared I plan to stand my ground no time to think about the fall Chorus 3 It keeps going round and round Round and round Round and round

Verse 1 It seemed so strange One single moment And then everything changed You came into view And I was lost There was nothing I could do Half-Chorus And on that day a brand new miracle Standing on the doorstep to my soul Verse 2 You grew so fast Every precious moment Only the memory will last From childhood days To adolescent fears An emotional maze Chorus And every day a brand new miracle Standing on the doorstep to my soul Yet at the same time, a passing oh so sad It’s so hard for me to let go Verse 3 Now the child is gone And in your place A woman stands so strong Familiar sites Seen through new eyes Bathed in a brand new light Chorus And every day a brand new miracle Standing on the doorstep to my soul Yet at the same time, a passing oh so sad It’s so hard for me to let go Verse 4 So here I stay Afraid to close my eyes Afraid to look away Just when a new person appears One disappears And it’s hard for me - hard to let go Chorus And every day a brand new miracle Standing on the doorstep to my soul Yet at the same time, a passing oh so sad It’s so hard for me to let go

Verse 1 Sitting down just the other day Looking at my life in the same old way (I)had to wonder about my mental health All at once a thought came to me and I felt myself floating free “Just a silly dream” I told myself Would I know the truth inside? How would I know unless I tried? I had to find my fear and look it in the eye Chorus 1 When we can learn to face ourselves Accept the truth within us all Living in the present tense sounds so simple It all makes sense When we can learn to face ourselves Verse 2 Looking in the mirror sometimes I see my own worst enemy trying to trip me up with past mistakes so I close my eyes and start over again Open up to my new best friend telling me I have just what it takes It all comes down to me and the way I choose to be I have to find my fear and look it in the eye Chorus 2 When we can learn to face ourselves Accept the truth within us all Living in the present tense sounds so simple it all makes sense When we can learn to face ourselves Solo Chorus 2 When we can learn to face ourselves Accept the truth within us all Living in the present tense sounds so simple it all makes sense When we can learn to face ourselves Living in the present tense sounds so simple it all makes sense When we can learn to face ourselves

Verse 1 There it is again that something in the air And everywhere I go people seem to know They stop and stare Hmm…. And still it seems so strange that a feeling such as this It’s so hard to explain this lack of pain What have I missed? And late at night while I’m used to a sleepless dread these brand new thoughts they fill my head Chorus 1 Confusion all around me Oh it so astounds me when happiness is just within my grasp! Every time it comes my way a voice deep within me says that it’s just not meant to last “There’s safety in the past” I guess there is no other way Verse 2 And still I won’t give up No, there’s something to this blissful state I’ve wished for this so long Would it be so wrong to call it fate? A skeptic, don’t you see? Well, that’s what I’ve always been ignoring my own heart Maybe I should start to live again And when I see her face my inner voices dare not make a sound Could this be love that I have found? Chorus 2 What’s this all around me? Oh it so astounds me! Happiness just within my grasp! It’s finally come my way I don’t know what to say but I know it’s meant to last No more living in the past She crept in without a sound and never fails to astound Could this be love that I have found?

New Idea 03:52
Verse 1 Got an email from a friend with the story of a man whose son was kicked right out of school It seems he couldn’t understand why the finger on his hand was classified as a “deadly tool” It didn’t seem so long ago that the story being told involved spitballs or skipping class (But) we’ve seen the error of our ways and we’re singing our own praise Those old ideas are changing fast Chorus 1 People come along and let’s embrace this new idea No complaints, no regrets, come on by – we hope to see ya! Gone are silly notions of original thought No more wasted time with old battles fought Nothing’s really changed - only rearranged in our new idea Verse 2 Politicians in the day used to tell us not to stray from the teachings of the church while they secretly pounce on all the vices they denounce A solemn oath that they besmirch but now it’s earth they preach about and famous faces lend them clout “Keep those footprints nice and small” But when the sun is finally set they fly out in their private jet to their homes so nice and tall Chorus 2 People come along and let’s embrace this new idea No complaints, no regrets, come on by – we hope to see ya! Gone are silly notions of original thought No more wasted time with old battles fought Nothing’s really changed - only rearranged –That’s our new idea Bridge Chorus 3 People come along and let’s embrace this new idea No complaints, no regrets, come on by – we hope to see ya! Gone are silly notions of original thought No more wasted time with old battles fought Take a look ahead and tell me what you see Whichever side you choose The future is never free Come and join the crowd – never speak out loud against our new idea

Verse 1 It seems so tough to choose You feel the fear because you never want to lose stand to the side or strut your stuff So hard to tell when enough is enough I guess we don’t know how far to go So just keep going until there’s no place to go… Verse 2 It’s too easy to play it safe too many people tryin’ to put you in your place They just want what’s best for you as they see it from their own point of view Just smile politely and give em’ a shrug and do your own thing…just do your own thing….. Chorus 1 Just hold your head up When you are fed up with all that is around Keep holding your head up Hold your head up and no one can bring you down Verse 3 It doesn’t matter what they say It’s your decision at the end of the day so square your shoulders and take the stance You won’t be getting what you want by chance One more fight and another day it’s up to you to make it your own way Win or lose, only you decide whether to stand your ground or whether to run and hide Round and round and round you go and where you stop nobody knows Chorus 2 Just hold your head up When you are fed up with all that is around Keep holding your head up Hold your head up and no one can bring you down Solo Chorus 2 Just hold your head up When you are fed up with all that is around Keep holding your head up Hold your head up and no one can bring you down Just hold your head up no one can bring you down Keep holding your head up If you are fed up with all that is around

Testify 04:39
Verse 1 I wake each day and I see that you’re lying next to me that you’re lying next to me I look to you and in your eyes I see all my hopes and all my dreams all my hopes and all my dreams Chorus 1 And I will tell you why ‘Cause I need you by my side this I testify Verse 2 I try so hard I go to work each day yet those skies they seem so gray Yes, those skies seem so gray Then I hear your voice You’re calling me and It’s the sun that I see shining down all over me Chorus 2 And I will tell you why ‘Cause I have you by my side No tellin’ lies No alibis No compromise this I testify Verse 3 I stand in front of you all my faults to see Not sure what you see in me Not sure what you see in me You don’t give up You count on me That’s all I need to set me free All I need to set me free Chorus 3 And I will always try to keep you by my side No tellin’ lies No alibis No compromise No big surprise you might surmise this I testify

Verse1 Since she’s been gone A piece of my heart has just moved on I can still see her fallen tears I dream of her face for hours on end I can’t replace All of those wasted years She stood in the door and I just let her go…. Chorus All that she had to give and I just kept taking All of her life to live and I just kept walking away… Verse2 Mornings she’d find an empty pillow by her side Not even a note to read Why couldn’t I see just what her love would mean to me I guess I had my frail ego to feed She just stood in the door and I let her go away… Chorus All that she had to give and I just kept taking All of her life to live and I just kept walking away… Bridge Jump back Take a slap Tell me where the hurtin’s at right from the start Heel, toe, Take it slow Tell her what she wants to know Who needs a heart when you’re playing a part? Break Since she’s been gone (Since she’s been gone) Since she’s been gone (Since she’s been gone) Chorus All that she had to give and I just kept taking All of her life to live and I just kept walking away… All that she had to give and I just kept taking All of my life to live And she just kept walking away…

Verse 1 When I feel the world crushing me I won’t join in the fight so easily I look the other way Look the other way Everything we’re shown on the TV screen Selling us the ends despite the means So I look the other way Look the other way Chorus 1 Look the other way Look the other way Verse 2 Captains of industry telling us what they think we should see as we look the other way Look the other way Public servants in a public trust Free exchange of greed and lust But we look the other way Look the other way Chorus 2 Look the other way Look the other way Bridge Out of the blue they call on you and you don’t know what to say A case of denial avoid the trial and it will go away You take the chance choose the dance and leave your hope to fate and you don’t know what you’re looking for Verse 3 Partners in a shadow dance moving in this game of chance just to look the other way Look the other way Time lapse photography Showing me age so plain to see So I look the other way Look the other way Chorus 3 (Look the other way) (Look the other way) Out of the blue they call on you (Look the other way) and you don’t know what to say A case of denial (Look the other way) avoid the trial and it will go away (Look the other way) and you don’t know what you’re looking for and you don’t know what you’re looking for (Look the other way)

Verse 1 Goodbye I have to be going It was fun Gotta run! Have I told you what's going on

about

Well this certainly took long enough!
What you have here is a collection of songs, going as far back as 1992, with many different amazing musicians contributing their unique style and skills to each song. Some of these musicians you would know and many you would not. What is important is that all of them brought something wonderful and unexpected to the table. I always loved bringing someone in to the session who completely surprises me by taking the song in a different direction than I originally planned. That is the beauty of collaboration!
So, why did this take so long you ask? Well, life is what happened. I had a family that I needed to support and decided, as many do, that the music industry was not the place to make that happen. I sold all of my gear (except for my drum set) and focused on learning a new skill set. It was the strangest experience because I felt as though a light switch was flipped in my brain and I no longer cared about music. I didn’t even listen to music in the car! Over the years I helped raise two beautiful girls who, ultimately led me back to my creative side and that internal light switch flipped back.
So, as I said before, these songs date back to 1992. I started by going back to five old recordings. I re-recorded certain parts that I didn’t like and re-mastered all five tracks. While doing this, I wrote and recorded seven new songs. My family helped immensely with this project. My wife and youngest daughter contributed to the music and vocals, my nephew played guitar and mixed and/or edited all of the songs, and my oldest daughter created all of the CD cover art and layout/design.
The most wonderful part of this whole journey is that I am doing this solely for fun! I write songs because I love writing songs and I have no other agenda! I have a good career and do not need to sell this to eat. It’s truly a labor of love! I really hope you like this CD. If you do then you will be happy to know that I have more on the way! If not then, who asked ya?!
